About Us

"Dream Team"
Scott & Amy have recruited experts in various fields to help in every detail of the Twin Cities Open. The "Dream Team" is one of the keys that makes this competition one of the most smoothly run & "fun for all" events in the country. Details from venue management, vendors, decorating, and more are carefully attended to so each participant has an enjoyable experience!
Organizers
Scott & Amy Anderson have been active in the dance industry for over 20 years. As professional dancers they were United States Rising Star Smooth Champions & Open Finalists and Fred Astaire National Smooth Champions. They have performed in shows from Epcot Center to the NFL Superbowl Halftime Show. As Pro/Am teachers they have won many US titles – Scott, with his students have won over 30 titles alone! Scott is also a certified Adjudicator with the Terpsichore Organization. As business owners, they ran a successful Fred Astaire franchise for several years & now teach independently at The Dance Shoppe Performing Arts Center outside Minneapolis.

In 1998 & 99, Scott and Amy produced WORLDANCE which coincided with the Twin Cities Open. WORLDANCE featured the professional open competition held in the state-of-the-art Target Center arena. Over 7,000 spectators came to WORLDANCE both years, as it also was a benefit for Fraser Community Services – a Twin Cities based non-profit organization aiding children and families with special needs.

In keeping with the idea of “giving back” & raising money and awareness to certain charities – the Andersons produced “Fiesta for Francesca” in 2002. Over $25,000 was raised for the Francesca Genereux Foundation (see 2002 Highlights).
